Cleaner/Janitor

We are looking for a Cleaner/Janitor for an events business with an immediate start.

We are looking for a hard working, enthusiastic, cheerful and friendly person who is passionate about cleaning. You must be a details person and job satisfaction must motivate you.

You must be quick, purposeful and able to work to set time frames. You must also be flexible with your time and able to work early in the mornings to accommodate turnarounds and set up before the next event.

• You must also be have good timekeeping skills and be punctual

Due to the nature of our events - we would be able to plan month by month your hours and guarantee you a certain number of hours each month.

This is a shift based position and would suit someone looking to supplement their income with extra work. We pay by the hour and the amount would be based on your previous experience.

Experience of cleaning a hospitality venue is preferable but not essential - experience of domestic cleaning is fine - but please be aware one of the venues is large and the floor space needs someone with good stamina!

As an extra - but not essential - it would be a definite perk if you had DIY skills and were handy with everyday tasks - such as changing light bulbs, fixing wobbly toilet seats, light plumbing know-how etc... We provide all cleaning products and kit.

We are not looking to work with an agency.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
• Clean and sanitise restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Empty waste bins and replace liners as needed.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and report any shortages.
• Ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Respond promptly to any cleaning emergencies or special requests from management.

Skills

• Experience in commercial cleaning is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas that require cleaning or maintenance.
• Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including safe handling procedures.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
