Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Cook and Dining Room Assistant, where your culinary skills and passion for food service will create a warm, welcoming environment for our residents and guests.

We are a Catholic organization and we consist of a small group of employees that fullfill the needs of about twenty five residents. We cook, clean and organize the needs and events of the residents and we are structured much like a bed and breakfast.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking for extra income but not full time. This is not a strenuous position and we cater to our elderly coworkers. This is a great position for our retired ladies as well as our young folk who do not depend on full time hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, dietary guidelines, and safety standards, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
• Assist with menu planning by selecting ingredients and creating appealing dishes that meet nutritional requirements
• Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, mixing, portioning, and plating with precision and care
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
• Serve meals to residents or guests in the dining room with friendly, attentive customer service
• Support catering events or special occasions by preparing additional dishes or assisting with setup and service
• Ensure proper food handling practices are followed at all times to promote safety and hygiene standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Proven culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
• Knowledge of menu planning and food safety regulations is essential
• Experience working in fine dining environments or the food industry enhances your suitability for this role
• Strong knife skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in food handling are required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly approach to serving others
