Role Overview

The Cleaning Operative is responsible for delivering high‑quality cleaning services across Occu‑managed properties, ensuring homes and common areas consistently meet company standards and resident expectations.

This role plays a critical part in the resident journey, particularly during end‑of‑tenancy, move‑in readiness and ongoing communal upkeep. The Cleaning Operative must work efficiently, safely and professionally while representing Occu’s values at all times.

The role is field‑based and requires flexibility to travel across multiple schemes as business needs evolve.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Cleaning & Property Preparation

  • Complete end‑of‑tenancy cleans for vacated properties ahead of new move‑ins.
  • Carry out cleaning of internal communal areas to agreed schedules.
  • Perform upholstery cleaning and balcony power washing when required.
  • Ensure properties meet Occu cleaning and presentation standards before occupation.

Operational & Equipment Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage at all times.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are fully stocked to allow for efficient service delivery.
  • Use all cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH guidelines and training.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas and vehicles.

Maintenance Awareness & Reporting

  • Identify and promptly report any maintenance issues or safety concerns encountered during cleaning.
  • Support the wider Operations, Property and Services teams by flagging issues early.

Teamwork & Conduct

  • Work collaboratively as part of a growing Cleaning & Services team.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, colleagues and management.
  • Represent Occu positively while on‑site and on the road.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Previous professional experience in commercial or residential cleaning.
  • Full, clean B driving licence (required).
  • Willingness and ability to travel between properties.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high standards of cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies and safe chemical usage.
  • Reliable, organised and capable of working independently when required.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
  • Must hold the necessary employment permit/visa for Ireland.

Employment Details

  • Job Type: Full‑time.
  • Work Location: On the road / multi‑site
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience
  • Must hold necessary employment permit/visa.
  • Must be willing to travel.

Pay: €14.00-€15.00 per hour
