Position: Client Care Attendant
Current Open Positions:
Children's House:
- 0.6 EFT evenings, every Monday and Friday and every second Saturday and Sunday.
- 0.5 EFT evenings, week 1: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday
- 0.5 EFT evenings, week 1: Wednesday and Thursday. Week 2: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
- 0.7 EFT nights, every Monday, Tuesday and every second Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Shift hours:
- Days - 0645-1500
- Evenings - 1445 - 2300
- Nights - 2245 - 0700
Responsibilities:
- Provide care to clients with complex medical needs by following individualized care plans.
- Administer personal care to residents, including dressing, bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with client transfers, positioning, and mobility, including weighing, lifting, and turning clients.
- Supervise and assist clients with exercise routines and set up/provide leisure activities.
- Accompany clients on recreational outings and to appointments as required.
- Take and record vital signs, administer medications, and monitor clients' status.
- Prepare and serve meals, assist clients at mealtimes, and maintain inventory of groceries, medications, and supplies.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and bed-making.
- Clean and sterilize equipment as required.
- Perform other duties related to client care and comfort as directed by the Client Care Coordinator and Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- Health Care Aide Certification required (or actively working towards completion).
- Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Experience with meal preparation and housekeeping.
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
- Understanding of Inuit culture is an asset.
- Must pass a criminal record check, adult abuse registry check, and child abuse registry check.
- Must meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, and performing repetitive motions.
