##Job Summary
To provide supervision to clients at Inclusion and Change Adult Day Program Inc.
## Duties
1. Provide services as required, including but not limited to the following:
-Making the day fun for our clients is our number 1 priority. Must be outgoing and enthusiastic.
-Assisting adults living with autism or other related developmental delay with daily routines while at the program, including snack and meal help, practicing good hygiene (hand-washing), special equipment, and toileting needs and reminders.
-Ensure medical needs are met, such as medication given on time, or maintaining safety/care during possible client seizures.
-Assisting in daily activities at the program, including preparing crafts, maintaining communication tools, laminating and copying, and other small tasks.
-Interaction with clients, including using their preferred communication tools, assisting with outings, outdoor supervision while waiting for transportation when possible.
-Facilitating and managing client interaction with each other, group play, circle time activities, friendship and social engagement.
-Management of behavioral issues and outbursts, following of behaviour and safety plans to facilitate smooth resolution, and continuation of a full day at the program whenever possible.
- Record-keeping, as it pertains to behavioural plan and safety plan updates, daily client logs, shift summaries, communication with parents as directed. Respecting client privacy and maintaining care of confidential information accordingly.
-Maintenance and upkeep of program equipment, including basic cleaning and sanitizing of areas after use.
2. Respond immediately to emergencies, e.g. washroom assistance or injury, and advise the employer of other unusual or emergency situations.
3. Be aware of and report any hazards concerning employee health and safety to the employer promptly.
4. Ensure that keys that are entrusted to you are kept secure and at hand.
5. Perform other duties as requested.
## Requirements
-Willingness to supervise clients with a focus on inclusion and safety, manage behavioural issues of clients, and provide entertainment and play as needed, as per a visual schedule.
-Willingness to provide day-to-day tidying as needs arise.
-Punctuality, reliability, and dependability.
-Ability to work co-operatively with the employer, with clients, with other employees.
-Good communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to accurately follow directions from the employer.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and to be worthy of the trust required to provide personal services to the vulnerable clients in our care.
