Climbing Gym Staff

Summary

We are looking for someone passionate about climbing who is seeking to engage with Beaumont's community at the BSRC. Climbing Gym Instructors are key to the success of our programs, and individuals who do well in this role are relationship focused as climbing is a community driven sport.

Responsibilities

• Monitor climbing wall operations during group bookings, programs, & public drop-in
• Instruct skill based climbing programs, coach progressions of climbing techniques
• Belay participants during group bookings, programs, and drop-in climbing
• Access control, check in, & POS operations using Rock Gym Pro software
• Equipment inspections and housekeeping tasks (document scanning & classification, hold washing...)
• Support of occasional events and seasonal program demands
• Routesetting & occasional wall maintenance if capable

Availability

We are most in need of an adult applicant with weekday daytime availability for our school group bookings in the new year.

Experience

• Rock climbing experience is preferred
• Experience working with kids is preferred
• Experience coaching youth sports is an asset to this position (gymnastics, swimming, dance, team sports, etc.)
• SFA / CPR certification & vulnerable sector check required
• CWI certification preferred, in-house training and certification available
