Administration Officer Level 4: $37.91 - $38.78 per hour
Administration Officer Level 5: $39.92- $40.83 per hour
Medical Records Administrator: $37.07 - $47.95 per hour

We are seeking a detail-driven Clinical Coder to accurately and efficiently code inpatient episodes of care in line with Australian Coding Standards and relevant guidelines. In this role, you will ensure the integrity and timeliness of clinical data, uphold ethical coding practices, and actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and reporting accuracy. Your precision and professionalism will directly support informed decision-making and high-quality patient care.

What you will bring to the role
  • Successful completion of a VETAB accredited Clinical Coding Course or Bachelor in Health Information Management (Medical Record Librarian / Administrator) or such other qualifications deemed to be equivalent by the employer and/or extensive coding experience in a tertiary hospital
  • Experience in clinical coding using ICD-10-AM and sound knowledge of current Australian Coding Standards
  • Demonstrated experience in using computerised patient data bases, electronic medical record and clinical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change
  • Demonstrated written English and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a team and achieving team goals
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise own workload to ensure daily benchmarks are met
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and to working in a continuous quality environment
