About the Role:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise individual students and group work in clinical environments, monitor their development and review student documentation related to clinical practice.
- Use evidence-based practice as a framework for clinical supervision and feedback of clinical skill development.
- Conduct practical or skill development sessions with student/s.
- Facilitate feedback to and from students and clinical partners regarding development of work integrated learning and convey to clinical team.
- Assist in the review and ongoing development of the clinical curriculum and innovative clinical education models (including Simulation) for the undergraduate and graduate entry programs, in conjunction with academic staff.
- Foster the School’s relationship with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community.
- Manage a range of administrative functions in relation to clinical education including liaising with University based clinical coordinators regarding student placement and assessments.
- A degree in Physiotherapy, and have current, or be eligible for, registration with the relevant professional association, and at least four years clinical experience in a relevant clinical area.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and clinical skills in one or more areas of physiotherapy practice (must include musculoskeletal therapy).
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of the principles of evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate high level inter-personal, oral and written communication skills as an effective educator.
- Demonstrate ability to develop and implement innovative methods of instruction for students and supervisors in skills, knowledge and behaviours of relevance to the profession.
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote the discipline at an interprofessional, School, University and wider community level.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritise tasks, multi-task and manage time effectively.
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
- Availability during clinic hours (7.5 hours per day; typically between 8am and 4/4:30pm, including a 30-60 minute lunch break), with the need to work flexibly to meet the service and educational needs of the clinic.
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction.
- This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
- Flexible FTE (0. 7 - 0.8FTE) considered for the right candidate.
