Job Summary:

Responsible for running the till and closing the store. Someone with great customer service skills and previous cashier experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Finalize daily sales transactions by operating the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently and accurately, ensuring all payments are processed correctly.
• Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision, adhering to cash handling policies and procedures.
• Assist customers with product questions, provide product demos when applicable, and upsell items to enhance their shopping experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products for optimal presentation.
• Conduct end-of-day cash reconciliation, prepare deposit reports, and ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding store operations, inventory needs, and customer feedback.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred.
• Strong proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership qualities to oversee closing procedures confidently.
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities (preferred), to serve diverse customers effectively.
• Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store appearance.
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques, upselling strategies, and customer service best practices.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
