Preferred

•At least three (3) years strong Swiss or 5 Axis Mill CNC programming, statistical methods, and CAD programs. •At least three (3) years CNC machining experience working several machines simultaneously, either Mazak Lathes/Machining Centers or Star Swiss Style Lathes.

What You Will Do

  • The CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer will create and generate CNC programs for assigned product lines using CAD/CAM software. Macro programming will be required in some instances.
  • Detailed understanding of blueprints including such aspects as geometric & dimensional tolerances, notes, revisions, specification references and surface finish requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of measuring and inspection equipment. Develop ways to inspect parts more efficiently.
  • Familiarity with different raw materials including aluminum, copper alloys, stainless steels, titanium, plastics and efficient ways of machining each material.
  • Makes appropriate changes in cutting tools, work holding and CNC programs when dictated by engineering drawings changes.
  • Completes first article inspections (FAIs) for newly machined parts.
  • Supports Manufacturing in the areas of process development, tool design, machinery & equipment acquisition and layout operations.
  • Keep abreast of new technology while refining in-house techniques.
  • Capable of working in a superior manner with no direct supervision. The CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer should be able to find solutions quickly and easily.
  • Detailed knowledge of the use and application of cutting tools. This includes sharpening, geometry, grades, coatings and troubleshooting.
  • Specify the entire manufacturing process from start to finish and ensure that these processes are efficiently and accurately followed.
  • Ensure the Change-over Procedures, Standing Operating Procedures and other instructional documents are followed by everyone working in their cell.

Who You Are

  • Bachelors of Science Degree: Manufacturing Engineering Technology- Automated Manufacturing or similar degree
  • 5-10 years of programming experience on Swiss Style Lathes
  • Working in a Medical Device or Aerospace industries

Preferred

  • Experience programming Star Swiss Machines
  • Working in a 13485 ISO 90011 Environment
  • Producing Spinal Orthopedic Implants

Skills and Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of programming in Partmaker software
  • Expert knowledge of Quality Control processes
  • Expert knowledge of GD&T
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
