Our Transport department focuses on ensuring the Transport Network is safe, efficient and meets our levels of service. They focus on renewals and maintenance as well and planning for infrastructure that aligns itself with growth in the City and the provision of choice in transport opportunities. As part of that focus, we also plan, renew and maintain elements in the coastline.
Our coastal team focuses on the maintenance and renewals of coastal structures and long term coastal strategies. Working closely with the capital delivery and maintenance team in Transport.
The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Coastal Engineer to join the team to help deliver short and medium term responses to coastal challenges, whilst contributing to strategies for the future. The Coastal Engineer will be responsible for managing maintenance of coastal protection at St Clair/St Kilda and for looking at options for maintenance and renewals in other parts of the Coastline and implementing those options.
Ideally you will have:
- An engineering qualification in a related field
- Previous experience in coastal infrastructure asset management
- Proven ability to work flexibly as part of a team
- An ability to engage with, and respond to the public in a positive way
In addition to the above you will have excellent report writing and oral communication skills.

Salary range: $86,428 - $101,680
