Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient part time Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring a positive experience for all customers. Previous experience in the food industry or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, cash handling, and customer service within a dynamic team setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages using a cash register.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling responsibilities
• Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
• Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently without compromising quality
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including serving snacks or light food items
• Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with food safety regulations

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista or in the food service industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
• Familiarity with taking orders and conversing with customers
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Good time management skills to handle multiple orders during peak hours efficiently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and processing transactions accurately
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset are essential

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23 – 25 per week
