Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commercial Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting asphalt and aggregate safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes effectively. We use older transfer trucks and belly dumps. We also have a fuel truck, so hazmat drivers are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles including transfer trucks, dump trucks, belly dumps, fuel truck in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Execute route driving to deliver freight to various locations while maintaining timely schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage loading and unloading of cargo, utilizing equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and vehicle maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery statuses and any issues that arise during transport.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and local traffic laws while on the road.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
  • Registered with clearing house. Pre Employment, drug screening required.
  • Maintain a clean Non-Smoking vehicle.
  • Proven experience in truck driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
  • Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with aggregate.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple routes efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members.
  • A commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
