Commercial Leasing Manager

The Commercial Leasing Manager is an exciting position within the Property Strategy & Planning team.

The Ministry of Justice has one of the largest property portfolios in the public sector. A large proportion of the portfolio is aging with 40% of the buildings being over 50 years old. In addition, 15 buildings are historically classified, which increases maintenance requirements and operating costs.

Over the next ten years the Ministry intends to significantly invest in bringing its existing property portfolio up to a fit for purpose standard.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the Ministry's leased portfolio. You'll ensure the Ministry's leased premises are cost-effective and sustainable.


Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Relevant industry or technical qualifications and/or certifications.
  • Client and tenant relationship experience.
  • Well-developed procurement, negotiation and lease management skills.
  • Contributing a culture of collaboration and cross functional integration.
  • Communicating with a wide range of audiences on a range of complex issues.
  • Able to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships within an organisation and a wide network of professional relationships.
  • Proven ability to identify risks and propose innovative solutions to ensure optimal property management.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $83,562 and $107,862 based on skills and experience.
