About the Role

Stanley Build is seeking a Commercial Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to join our expanding commercial team. You will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of Mechanical & Electrical works, supporting projects from tender stage through to final account while ensuring cost control, profitability and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions for M&E works.
  • Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation to prepare detailed cost plans.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier quotations and assist with procurement.
  • Monitor project expenditure, budgets and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
  • Manage variations, claims and contractual changes.
  • Produce monthly commercial reports and cost forecasts.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, clients and subcontractors to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years' experience in a commercial quantity surveying role with exposure to M&E, civil or relevant projects.
  • Experience working on commercial construction, infrastructure, utilities or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and cost control.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
