About the position

Are you ready to act as the technical ambassador for membrane filtration solutions on site? Join GEA in a truly global role where you travel the world while building your professional expertise. Along the way, you will bring advanced membrane systems to life and develop specialist knowledge in filtration technology, learning from some of the best in the industry. At our office in Skanderborg, Denmark, you will join our Core Technology Center and be part of the Membrane Filtration team. Here, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across our global organization, each contributing specialized expertise in filtration technologies. You will be part of a supportive environment where teamwork and hands-on engagement are central to the way we work. We succeed by combining technical depth with close collaboration, sharing knowledge across borders and supporting one another to deliver high-quality solutions to customers worldwide.

Your responsibilities and tasks

As Commissioning Engineer, you are responsible for bringing membrane filtration systems safely and efficiently into operation at customer sites worldwide.

With approximately 100-150 travel days per year, this is a truly international role. You will oversee commissioning from pre-commissioning through optimisation to final handover, ensuring each system performs to the highest standards.

More specifically, you will:

  • Execute on-site commissioning including FAT, SAT, optimisation, and performance validation
  • Troubleshoot process, mechanical, and control-related issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support installation and start-up activities together with project managers and automation engineers
  • Train customer operators and maintenance staff in safe and efficient system operation
  • Document commissioning activities and provide structured technical feedback for continuous improvement

Your profile and qualifications

With a practical and solution-oriented approach, you thrive in dynamic on-site environments where technical challenges require structured thinking and sound judgement. Your solid communication skills and your customer-focused mindset enable you to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Finally, we imagine that you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, dairy or process technology, or a similar technical field

  • Might have experience with membrane filtration technologies (UF/RO/NF/MF)

  • Have experience with commissioning, process optimisation, or industrial automation

  • Are able to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and control system logic

  • Are fluent in Danish and English
