About the role

ACT is looking for a Communications Advisor to join their team at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 40 hours per week. You’ll be entrusted to provide a strong foundation of support to ACT MPs on a wide range of communication activity. Working as part of the team, and reporting to the Communications Manager, you’ll step into an environment that is unique, exciting, and rewarding.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the Press Secretary in supporting ACT’s caucus to identify and campaign on political issues
  • Work with the Digital Manager in supporting the ACT caucus’ activity across all social media – creating content ideas, briefing graphic designers, posting etc.
  • Support the ACT caucus in developing communication material for all media, including, but not limited to: Video content, Social media content, Press releases, Written communication, Speechwriting, Copywriting.
  • Support the ACT caucus in ensuring there is a steady stream of content across social media platforms
  • Support the ACT caucus in the monitoring of media, including social media
  • Support the ACT caucus in being highly effective communicators across their portfolios and wider political issues
  • Offer wider support to the Caucus Support Centre where needed – the small, agile team prides itself on a positive startup culture where each person steps up to do what is required.

Please note: This is a full-time role. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per annum, with the potential for the salary to exceed this range based on skills and experience. Appointments will be made accordingly.
