Make a Difference in Continuing Care

The Alberta Continuing Care Association (ACCA) is looking for a Communications & Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team. If you're passionate about purposeful communication, love the energy of well-run events, and want your work to have a real impact, we want to hear from you!

At ACCA, we are the leading voice for advancing excellence in continuing care in Alberta. Our members include providers of home care, supportive living, long-term care, and the businesses that support them. We advocate, innovate, and engage to help create a sustainable and person-centred system of care.

About the Role

This is a cross-functional role that supports both the Communications and Events portfolios and reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing. You’ll bring our member-first philosophy to life through engaging content, consistent storytelling, and meaningful event experiences.

You’ll wear many hats—from running our social media channels to helping execute conferences. This hands-on role is perfect for someone creative, organised, and keen to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and distribute weekly e-newsletters and member updates
  • Create compelling content for web, email, print, and social media
  • Assist with podcast production and media events
  • Support the development of communication materials and member benefit communications
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications

Social Media

  • Manage daily social media activity across platforms
  • Implement ACCA’s social media strategy and track analytics
  • Create reports to evaluate and optimise engagement

Events & Conferences

  • Collaborate on event marketing strategies and materials
  • Design signage, presentations, and sponsor collateral
  • Populate and manage Eventbrite pages, monitor registrations
  • Coordinate event logistics and liaise with vendors and sponsors
  • Provide onsite event support including setup and teardown
  • Draft event scripts and speaker materials

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in communications and/or events—experience in healthcare or non-profits is an asset

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Campaigner, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, and Eventbrite
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Jotform is a bonus
  • Creative eye for design and a keen attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Adaptable, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a hybrid work environment
  • Available for occasional travel and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Why Join ACCA?

  • Flexible, hybrid work environment
  • Meaningful work that supports Alberta’s continuing care sector
  • Opportunities to grow and collaborate in a purpose-driven team
  • A role where no two days are the same!
