Business Communications Manager

Your role and responsibilities

You are a self-motivated, creative and well-rounded communications professional with a passion for the impact exceptional communications can have on a business. Working with our global team, in alignment with the global communication strategy you will help develop and execute an innovative and compelling plan that supports internal and external communications activities for the Electrification Service Division across Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will help to support and build our brand and profile in the market, drive employee engagement, and develop a customer-first, people-centered culture. You will join a newly formed team that is defined by collaboration and a vision to inspire and engage through communications. • External communications –build division awareness and expand the breadth and potential of Service in the EMEA market through action-oriented external activities including media relations, social media, events (digital and face-to-face), advertising and content creation. • Internal communications – Develop plan for employees to feel connected, engaged and inspired to make great things happen. Implement the plan in a timely, relevant, engaging and expert manner, across multiple internal channels, working alongside local managers. • Content – as regional point of contact in EMEA, work alongside the global team to create quality content that brings Service priorities, successes and the organization to life, from press releases, customer case studies and social media content to presentations, speeches and videos. • Events and branding – Support and ensure effective planning and implementation of assigned and agreed global/local events for the Division/region, including media/press events and internal events – both in person and digital. Act as brand ambassador for the division across EMEA, ensuring the global ABB brand is properly and consistently applied. • Channel and community management – ensure regional presence on internal and external digital and event platforms for dialogue, exchange and content. • Collaboration – Develop productive relationships with colleagues across other businesses, divisions and countries to ensure seamless alignment of activity and inclusion of the Service division. Ensure EMEA is properly represented and amplified at the global division level, and ensure that global initiatives are rolled out in markets. Qualifications for the role

  • Undergraduate degree or higher.
  • Fluent English, plus at least one additional regional language.
  • Exceptional content / copywriting / storytelling skills, experience in creating and editing digital and online content and messages
  • Passionate about digital communications and the power of social media
  • Experience in analyzing and developing relevant metrics
  • Desirable – flexibility to work directly across all levels – from with senior leaders to grassroots
  • Ability to be hands-on in a virtual but strong small team, and to be comfortable working independently – at times with minimal direction - on complex projects concurrently, often under short deadlines.
