We are now looking for a skilled Communications Specialist to join our driven Communications team.

You will play a key role in crafting and sharing content that connects with media, customers, decision-makers, and stakeholders globally. You’ll dive deep into innovative technologies and topics – such as carbon capture & utilisation, quantum technology and hydrogen – and transform them into compelling stories.

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a can-do attitude. Collaboration is key, and you’ll be working alongside our dynamic Communications team and closely with our business areas, researchers, and marketing colleagues.

Our Communications increases VTT’s awareness and makes innovations and their impact visible through brand awareness, thought-leadership, proactive media relations and beyond the obvious social media presence. As a Communications Specialist you will:

• Plan, create, develop and coordinate content across a variety of channels (e.g., website, social media) to enhance and support daily communications activities
• Plan, create and edit engaging visuals, including graphics, photos, videos, and presentations that are aligned with VTT beyond the obvious brand
• Leverage the latest digital tools and AI to enhance communication efforts
• Take ownership of selected communications initiatives and drive them independently
• Coordinate media relations, events, photo shoots, and more together with your colleagues.

What we're looking for:

• Education & experience: A degree in communications (or related field) and 3 5 years of experience in communications (preferrable in expert communications and/or B2B communications)
• Content creation expertise: Ability to translate complex topics into engaging content for different audiences and various channels
• Language skills: Fluent in both Finnish and English, with strong written and spoken communication skills
• Visual creativity & presentation skills: Strong visual eye to create and edit visual and graphic content to bring our brand to life. You don’t shy away from interviews and producing videos. Proficient in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and various digital and content platforms
• Proactive & resourceful: Excellent collaboration and project management skills, solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
