The Communication Specialist is a new role in the Communications and Engagement team at Windana and is responsible for coordinating external and internal communication activities across the organisation.
In this role you’ll help shape Windana’s external profile by leading and growing Windana’s social media presence and supporting the implementation of a digital-forward communications strategy. You’ll also play a key role in supporting Windana’s culture by contributing to our internal communications and strategic projects, ensuring the Windana team is connected and informed.
Most importantly, your work will support the life changing services delivered by Windana’s Operations Team. The Communications Specialist will be heavily involved in service-related communications, as well as creating and sharing stories of the positive impact these services have on clients.
Coordinate and maintain Windana’s Integrated Communications Calendar and work with colleagues to proactively plan, produce and post engaging content for internal and external audiences.
Lead and grow engagement of Windana’s social media channels.
Research, write and publish high quality content for other internal and external communications channels including websites, intranet, newsletters, videos and annual reports.
Develop case studies that can be used to amplify the voices of clients and support advocacy work.
Review the Windana website regularly and edit/update content to ensure it is current and accurate.
Review and update Windana’s publications, including the wording and graphic design of brochures, manuals, flyers, fact sheets and relevant documents.
Support project and change communications as required across a suite of organisational projects.
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Design, Marketing or Public Relations or similar area and at least two-years’ experience working as a marketing or communications professional
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand language.
Demonstrated content creation across a wide variety of digital and print mediums, including social media.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from community members to employees and craft compelling messages that resonate with various audiences.
Ability to work in a faced paced environment and be part of a small and energetic team.
High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills and presentation skills, with an ability to tailor communicate style to suit the diversity of people.
Experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, along with an understanding of digital and print design principles across a variety of different media forms.
Knowledge of online platforms, including WordPress, Monday.com, MailChimp and Stripo.
