About Inspired : Inspired is a community-based service provider for young adults with ID, based in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Key to Inspired is its unique ethos. Our learning programmes, employment initiatives and community-based activities are fully participant-led. They are driven by the aim of affording participants a sense of agency, empowerment and self-determination. Through respectful collaboration and enabling participants to craft and design their own personalised progression plans, we facilitate adults with ID to reach their full potential and forge enriching and valued roles in society.

Contract Job Purpose: As a key member of the Inspired Team, the Community Arts Facilitator (CAF) in Arts & Crafts will lead the engagement of participants, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to identify and achieve their vocational and transition goals through creative exploration. The CAF will guide participants in developing their crafting skills, co-designing a range of artistic products, and engaging with the public through online platforms, community markets, and collaboration with local artists. The role also involves sourcing opportunities for sales, exhibitions, and skill-sharing, fostering creativity, confidence, and community connection.

Job Type:

· Full Time

· 1 year contract (The candidate must be available to complete the whole one-year contract)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (with occasional weekend work when required for markets/events etc)

Start Date: As soon as possible (subject to Garda Vetting and Reference Checks)

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

· Relevant third-level qualification (e.g., Art & Design, Education, Community Development, or related field) or recognised Training/Coaching qualification

· Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role

· Experience in one-to-one coaching, supporting individuals to set and achieve personal or vocational goals

Candidate Requirements:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proven ability to build and maintain sustainable working relationships

· Creative thinker with strong facilitation and organisational skills

· Capable of working independently and using initiative

· Full, clean drivers licence

·Garda Vetting is required

· International vetting required if the candidate has lived outside of Ireland for 3 months or more

· References must be available upon request

Roles and Responsibilities:

Creative Facilitation & Participant Support

·Support participants in developing a broad range of arts and crafts skills in a person-centred, inclusive environment.

·Deliver engaging, creative sessions that build participant confidence and promote skill development.

· Collaborate with participants to co-create a product line that reflects their creativity, interests, and talents.

·Help participants identify and work toward their vocational goals through creative expression and enterprise.

Working with Community Artists

· Build relationships with local artists and creative groups to develop inclusive, collaborative projects.

· Coordinate workshops and opportunities for participants to work alongside community artists and makers.

·Facilitate the sharing of skills and knowledge between participants and artistic partners.

Community Engagement & Sales Development

· Identify and secure opportunities for participant products to be displayed and sold at markets, exhibitions, and pop-up events.

·Support participants in preparing for public engagement, enhancing their confidence and communication.

· Build connections with community organisations, retailers, and market organisers to promote participant inclusion and visibility.

Design, Product Development & Quality

· Guide participants and community collaborators in product design, presentation, and craftsmanship.

· Ensure that crafted items are created to a high standard and are suitable for public sale.

· Stay current on trends in craft and design to inform product development and maximise appeal.

Marketing & Online Sales

·Assist in managing product listings and updates for online platforms (e.g., Etsy, Shopify).

·Support the creation of promotional content including photography, descriptions, and participant stories.

·Contribute to social media and marketing strategies that promote participant work and programme impact.

Programme & Administrative Support

·Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, workshop activity, stock, and sales.

· Support reporting processes as required by the organisation.

· Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, risk, health & safety, and organisational policies.
