Lake Monticello Owners' Association (LMOA) is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Community Standards Inspector to help preserve the beauty, safety, and quality of life within our vibrant community.
In this role, you'll work directly with residents and property owners to promote compliance with community standards and governing documents. You'll spend time both in the field and in the office, building positive relationships, conducting inspections, documenting findings, and helping residents navigate solutions to maintain the community we all enjoy.

What You'll Do
- Build positive relationships with residents while educating and assisting them with community standards and LMOA policies.
- Conduct property inspections regarding LMOA policy violation.
- Prepare and issue violation notices and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Work collaboratively with residents to achieve compliance through communication, education, and problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and case documentation using LMOA software systems.
- Prepare case files and supporting documentation for Compliance Committee and court hearings when necessary.
- Attend Compliance Committee meetings and court proceedings as a representative of the Association.
- Conduct inspections related to Property Owners' Association Act (POAA) disclosure packets and enter information into the HomeWise system.
- Assist with special projects and other assignments that support LMOA operations and community goals.
What We're Looking For
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Experience working directly with the public to resolve concerns and provide solutions.
- Experience interpreting, applying, or enforcing policies, regulations, or standards is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Lake Monticello community is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to remain professional, approachable, and objective in challenging situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn and effectively use LMOA software and data management systems.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports, case files, and documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of LMOA governing documents and applicable Virginia laws.
Licenses
- Valid Virginia Driver's License and ability to meet LMOA driving requirements.
Work Environment
This position offers a combination of office and field work.
You'll spend time throughout the community conducting inspections, interacting with residents, and evaluating properties. The role may require walking on uneven terrain, navigating outdoor environments, and working in various weather conditions. Administrative work is completed in a professional office setting.
Occasional evening meetings may be required. Weekend work is rare.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Ability to traverse residential lots and community property.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer systems.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
