The Role
We are seeking passionate First Nations Identified Community Employer Engagement Coordinator's to lead and strengthen employer partnerships that support the employment of First Nations peoples. This pivotal role will focus on engaging local employers, identifying job opportunities, and ensuring alignment with community needs and cultural values. You will be responsible for building trusted relationships across communities, employers and service partners to create tailored employment solutions and contribute to long-term job retention and economic empowerment. This is a full-time role based in the greater Townsville region and will include occasional travel to outreach sites.
Skills and Experiences:
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local employers, industry groups, and community stakeholders.
- Identify sustainable employment opportunities that align with participant goals and community aspirations.
- Promote the strengths and talents of First Nations job seekers to prospective employers.
- Coordinate culturally safe pre-employment and onboarding support.
- Collaborate with Job Mentors to ensure job matching and placement success.
- Visit or host and facilitate employer information sessions, job expos, and community engagement events.
- monitor job outcomes and provide ongoing support to both employers and participants.
- Provide input into local employment strategies and contribute to program reporting and improvement.
- Must Identify as First Nations
- Demonstrated experience in Community engagement or business development
- strong knowledge of local labor market trends and Frist Nations employment barriers
- Proven ability to build trust with both community members and employers
- Current divers license and vehicle
- WWCC blue card and police check- to be provided before commencement
