Description:
To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
About The Role
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the primary purpose of the Community Liaison – School Programs is to bridge the gap between Indigenous students, their families, the school, and ATSICHS Brisbane primary health clinics and related programs. This role exists to ensure culturally appropriate health support, promote health education, and improve health outcomes for Indigenous students by facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the school and ATSICHS Brisbane.
Duties
Coordinate and deliver ATSICHS Brisbane School health and education programs with local schools across the catchment.
Collaborate with schools to integrate ATSICHS health services and programs into the term plan.
Ensure that services provided are culturally sensitive.
Liaise with families to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's health care.
Provide support to students and their families to link in with ATSICHS Brisbane services
Build and maintain relationships with local Indigenous communities and the primary health clinic.
Maintain MMEx calendars for School Health Check days.
Update and maintain School Programs sharepoint.

Base salary of $69,941 per annum (based on qualifications and experience).
11.5% Super + access to salary packaging (Increases your take home pay).

Skills and Experiences:
Required
Experience in community health or education settings
Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and health issues
National Police Certificate
Working with Children's (Blue) Card or willing to apply.
Immunisations Category B
Evidence of Work Rights
Travel between work sites on a regular basis.
Travel to work in the community on a regular basis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred
Tertiary qualifications in health, education, or a related field.
Experience working with school-aged children.
