Community Support Worker

Looking For:

We are looking for compassionate, empathetic, and proactive individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and organizational skills, a patient and adaptable nature, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring client comfort and dignity.
  • Aid clients in household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry to maintain a safe and organized living environment.
  • Encourage and assist clients in developing life skills, fostering independence, and achieving personal goals.
  • Support clients in participating in community activities, social events, and appointments to enhance their quality of life.
  • Offer short-term care and support to provide relief for family members or primary caregivers.
  • Ensure clients follow their prescribed medication schedules and provide reminders or assistance as needed.
  • Provide reliable transport for clients to medical appointments, shopping, and recreational activities.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, offering companionship, encouragement, and a listening ear.
  • Follow individualized support plans developed in collaboration with care coordinators to meet each client's unique needs.
  • Accurately record client progress, report changes in conditions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards and NDIS guidelines to ensure a secure environment for clients and staff.
  • Work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and other support workers to provide comprehensive care.

Skills and Attributes: -

  • Diploma, Advance diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in community services or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to community services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Job Type & Salary: -

  • This is a full-time permanent job.
  • The base salary will be AUD 75,000- AUD 80,000 plus superannuation.

Working Hours: -

  • Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
