A Community Support Worker (CSW) is responsible for assisting adults with diverse-abilities to lead a full and integrated life within their community. CSWs build networks for individuals using a person-centered approach, the values and practices of Asset-Based Community Development, and social innovation. CSWs identify the assets and gifts of individuals with disabilities and then apply this knowledge to promote and foster meaningful, reciprocal relationships of acceptance and belonging with community groups, individual citizens, associations, or others in the community. CSWs are responsible for ensuring the physical, emotional, social, recreational, economic, educational, and/or medical needs of all individuals are met.
Expected hours: 20 per week
Requirement(s):
- Must be 19 years of age or older;
- Must hold a valid class 5 (or better) driver's license - drivers abstract required;
- Related experience working with adults with diverse abilities is considered an asset;
- Basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties as required;
-First Aid (Level 1)
- Criminal record check (will be performed by NEXUS upon hire)
