Completions Team Leader

The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield’s 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original wasteplants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo.

The BEP Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).

About the opportunity

Accountable for leading the Completions Team and Verification of collection and maintenance of all certification records from Construction Completion through Handover to the client Operations Team.

Roles and responsibilities

The Completions Team Leader is responsible for:

• Deputising for the day to day management of the Completions Team, when required along, with all other activities normally performed by the Completions manager.
• Manage, support and develop all Completions personnel contributing to their Professional Development goals and objectives.
• Management and Administration of Completion and Commissioning Certification Database.
• Assist with Authoring and checking of all Completions processes and procedures along with the Completions Manager.
• Ensuring all Completions processes and procedures are adhered to by the Completions Team for audit purposes.
• Audit / review of the project Completions process ensuring where applicable recommendations are recorded and implemented.
• Oversee the compilation of all Handover packs for each handover phase ensuring the guidelines within Sellafield SLSP’s are followed at all times.
Provide all necessary training to Completions and other site personnel, ensuring individuals are competent and possess the required qualifications/ skills and tools.

• Trained in the configuration and management of completions management systems.
• Preference for HNC or equivalent or route to achieve the qualification.
• Project completions experience.
Completions experience during Construction & Commissioning phases.

The ability to obtain BPSS & P4 pass is essential for this role.

Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
