Role Overview
You will be required to delivery and collect compost to various locations throughout Ireland. We operate a fleet of walking floor and flat trailers which are used for delivery of compost and also collection of Gypsum and Straw to and from our location in Carbury, County Kildare. All vehicles are based in Carbury, County Kildare
Main Duties
· You must adhere to the rules of the road at all times
· Ensure safe loading and unloading of compost deliveries going to growers around Ireland, some of the locations are in Cavan, Westmeath, Mayo, Monaghan, Meath and Armagh
· Ensure you are following delivery route in a timely & responsible fashion
· File the correct route cards along with a copy of the vehicles tachograph
· Fill your vehicle with fuel before finishing each day
· Park your vehicle in a neat, tidy & safe manner
· Wash your vehicle each evening before finishing your shift
· Ensure there are sufficient levels of oil & water in your vehicle each morning
· Complete a pre-collection vehicle check sheet and file it on a daily basis before moving off site
· Responsible for the vehicle provided and drive it with due care and attention
· Maintain and observe Health, Safety and Hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations
· Maintain and observe all Company procedures
Competencies to perform the role
· Compost Delivery Drivers are required to work on a 5 day basis which may occasionally include Saturdays and Sundays around the Christmas period.
· Must be competent with machinery and flexible to do shift work.
· A full clean Drivers Licence (EC)
Experience and Qualifications
- Manual handling experience is essential
- Mechanical experience would be an advantage
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in artic driving
· Digital Tachograph Card
· Driver CPC Certificate
