Title: Computer Repair Technician- Computers for Schools Intern Program (CFSI)
The Computers for Schools Intern (CFSI) program supports the Government of Canada's Youth Employment and Skills Strategy. CFSI seeks to enhance the employability and marketability of youth through internships specifically targeted to develop expertise and skills needed to actively participate in the digital economy.
Under CFSI eligible youth are given valuable work experience through internships targeted to develop and enhance advanced digital skills. CFSI helps young Canadians of diverse backgrounds and genders gain work experience and develop a variety of advanced digital skills and important soft-skills such as project management, teamwork, and communications.
Participants in this program will repair and refurbish computer equipment, sort and test computer software, and prepare and package computers for shipment to various community groups and schools.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Evaluate, refurbish and repair donated computer equipment, peripherals and other education technology for distribution to schools and related organizations
· Handling and preparing E-waste for shipment to certified recycler
· Adhere to the established policies, procedures and guidelines as set out by Computers for Schools Plus program
· Assist with the pickup of donated equipment, if required.
-Shipping and receiving and other Warehouse related duties
To be eligible to participate in the CFSI program, you must:
- be between 15 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the start of the internship;
- be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; and
- be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Criminal Record check and vulnerable sector check required -due to the possibility of visiting schools

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 3-6 months
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
