Job Summary

The Concrete Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across Ontario by developing strategic client relationships, securing new business, and managing key accounts in the concrete and construction market. This role requires strong technical knowledge of concrete materials, including mix design and admixtures, combined with the ability to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions to clients.

Experience with volumetric concrete operations is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy targeting contractors, developers, general contractors, and municipalities across Ontario
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across ICI, residential, and infrastructure sectors
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of tenders, negotiated work, and repeat clients
  • Prepare and submit quotations, proposals, and bid packages aligned with project specifications
  • Achieve or exceed sales and margin targets

Client & Market Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (project managers, estimators, procurement teams, engineers)
  • Attend site meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing technical input and responsive service
  • Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms

Technical Expertise – Concrete Mixes & Admixtures

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of concrete mix design principles, including strength, durability, workability, and curing requirements
  • Provide guidance on admixture selection and performance, including:
  • Water reducers and superplasticizers
  • Air entrainment
  • Accelerators and retarders
  • Supplementary cementitious materials (slag, fly ash, silica fume)
  • Interpret and respond to project specifications (OPSS, CSA A23.1, etc.)
  • Work with operations and suppliers to develop and adjust mix designs to meet project requirements
  • Troubleshoot field issues related to slump, set time, finishing, and environmental conditions
  • Support clients with value engineering to optimize performance, cost, and constructability

Technical & Operational Coordination

  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities
  • Coordinate with operations, dispatch, and production teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide input on scheduling, placement methods, and site logistics

Volumetric Concrete (Asset)

  • Identify opportunities where volumetric concrete offers advantages (remote sites, small pours, variable demand, reduced waste)
  • Educate clients on benefits and limitations compared to ready-mix supply
  • Support implementation of volumetric solutions in project planning

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor Ontario market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity
  • Identify opportunities in infrastructure, ICI, and residential sectors
  • Provide feedback to leadership to refine strategy and offerings

Team Leadership (if applicable)

  • Mentor junior sales staff or estimators
  • Support team performance and sales planning

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in concrete, construction materials, or related industry in Ontario
  • Proven track record in sales, estimating, or project management
  • Hands-on experience with concrete mix designs and admixtures is required
  • Strong knowledge of CSA A23.1 / A23.2 and Ontario construction specifications (OPSS)
  • Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Familiarity with volumetric concrete operations is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel across Ontario

Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Ready Mix Concrete: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
