Position: Construction Estimator
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction practices, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Duties and responsibilities
- Analyze civil and building prints, geo and phase I reports, topo drawings, ALTA survey, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation to prepare accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects and be able to analyze general contractor’s general conditions.
- Ability to prepare conceptual budgets from preliminary sites, SIR, and building plans.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors to gather information and ensure accurate estimates.
- Solicit, review, and analyze general contractors, subcontractors and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and submit estimates within required deadlines.
- Perform risk assessments and account for potential deviations from the project plan.
- Present proposals to clients and stakeholders, clearly communicating the scope of work and budget.
- Maintain accurate cost databases, historical project data, and records of estimated versus actual costs.
- Stay up-to-date with current market conditions, building codes, and industry trends to ensure competitive estimates.
- Work closely with the real estate, development and legal teams to create preliminary construction budgets.
Requirements and qualifications
- 5 + years/ Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in a commercial setting.
- Proficiency in interpreting architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for proposals, reports, and client interaction.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
