STRABAG is actively seeking a Construction Quality Control Manager for our Canadian division, where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.

Job Summary

The Construction Quality Control Manager is reporting to Quality Director and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, communicating and monitoring the implementation of the project Inspection and Test Plans and the associated processes. The successful candidate will be stationed at the ATC2 - Advanced Tunnel 2 for Eglinton Crosstown West Extension Project in Eglinton, Ontario.

Duties

  • Accountable for inspection, monitoring and comparing construction activities with the drawings according to the project specifications and the Quality Control program;
  • Create and maintain Inspection and Test Plans;
  • Ensure ITPs are effectively implemented;
  • Manage Construction Deficiencies;
  • Lead/oversee completion of required quality documentation such as test reports, certificate of compliance, and others;
  • Liaising with field Client Quality Staff on all matters relating to field quality;
  • Work closely with third party testing, design and construction team to ensure inspection and testing activities are implemented in accordance with the ITP and design requirements;
  • Coach and mentor field QC staff;
  • Responsible for pre-work reviews and monitoring the quality of work of sub-contractors;
  • Provide direct daily quality support and guidance on product quality to the cross-functional team;
  • Ensure quality records are reviewed before submission to customers;
  • Promote STRABAG to all associated with the organization/project by demonstrating professional skill and a high standard of fairness and integrity;
  • Participate in proposals and tenders for new projects; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in overseeing the construction quality of large projects within the field of rail and transit, transportation and infrastructure;
  • A bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering;
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification would be considered an asset.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to lift to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:
The employee is generally required to work on a construction site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
