Churchfield Home Services is seeking an experienced Construction Resource & Subcontractor Manager to develop and manage our construction resource and subcontractor capacity across multiple regions.

This is not a traditional recruitment or HR role. The position is focused on ensuring CHS has the right skilled resources available to meet its forward programme of work.

The successful candidate will proactively source, assess, negotiate with, onboard, mobilise and manage subcontractors and construction resources, working closely with Operations, Project Managers and Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast future construction resource requirements and identify capacity gaps.
  • Source and develop a strong network of subcontractors and skilled trades.
  • Vet and onboard subcontractors, including insurance, qualifications, compliance and H&S requirements.
  • Negotiate rates and maintain agreed commercial terms.
  • Maintain a central approved subcontractor and resource register.
  • Coordinate subcontractor mobilisation and allocation.
  • Work with operational teams to ensure resources are available where and when required.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality, productivity, reliability, safety and overall performance.
  • Develop additional subcontractor capacity to support business growth and peak demand.
  • Provide management with regular reporting on resource availability, shortages and requirements.

Experience & Skills

We are seeking candidates with approximately 7–12+ years' experience in construction, M&E, utilities, civil engineering, housing, energy upgrades, facilities management or another labour-intensive contracting environment.

Essential:

  • Strong construction or contracting experience.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors and skilled labour.
  • Experience sourcing and mobilising construction resources.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with contractors and tradespeople.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and manage multiple competing requirements.

Experience in residential construction, retrofit, insulation, electrical, plumbing/heating, ventilation or Solar PV would be advantageous.

An existing network of construction subcontractors and tradespeople would be a significant advantage.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is proactive, commercially aware, organised, persistent and confident, with the ability to take ownership and build a reliable resource pipeline for a rapidly growing business.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will ensure CHS can look ahead and clearly understand what work is coming, what resources are required, what capacity is secured and where additional resources are needed.

Pay: €50,000.00-€60,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Crossmolina, County Mayo: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Construction labour contracting : 7 years (required)

Work authorisation:

  • Ireland (required)
