POSITION SUMMARY
The Site Superintendent oversees all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to Saywell Contracting’s high standards of excellence. This role requires a strong leader capable of coordinating multiple trades, maintaining efficient workflow, and upholding a culture of safety and quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, monitor, and maintain the construction schedule, addressing potential issues proactively.
- Lead and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring work is completed to specifications.
- Coordinate effectively with the Project Manager, design team, consultants, and clients to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
- Oversee and control labour, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to timelines.
- Maintain compliance with WorkSafeBC Regulations and Saywell Contracting’s Health & Safety Program, promoting a safe job site.
- Enforce quality control, construction standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote and maintain site cleanliness, organization, and safety among all crews.
- Attend pre-construction and coordination meetings, document potential challenges, and consult with the Project Manager as needed.
- Ensure accurate “as-built” drawings are maintained and updated regularly.
- Coordinate and schedule all required municipal inspections.
- Prepare and manage project deficiency lists to ensure timely and complete project turnover.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent on multi-residential and/or commercial projects valued over $5 million.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and multiple subcontractors effectively.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building envelope systems, and quality assurance processes.
- Previous experience working on Indigenous projects considered a strong asset.
- Building envelope remediation experience is also an asset.
- Proficiency in construction management software and digital documentation tools preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Annual Salary: $90,000 – $140,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
