Role/Department:
As the Employee Relations Consultant you will be a part of a high performing and dynamic Employee Relations team comprising of ER Specialists located across Ireland, UK and Continental Europe. Focused on best practice, risk management, continuous development and the employee experience, the team is highly energised with a proven track record of success.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • To advise, counsel and serve as a subject matter expert on various Employee Relations (ER) issues - including investigations, violations of policy, progressive discipline, involuntary terminations, employment law, interpretation and administration of corporate human resources policies/procedures primarily for Ireland, UK and Guernsey
  • Lead the investigation of formal procedures in conjunction with designated line managers or independently to include disciplinaries, performance improvement, probation and grievances.
  • independently manage flexible work and medical accommodation processes.
  • Manage the handling of data subject access requests.
  • Support investigations across the ER function.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in providing advice to HR colleagues and managers on all ER and policy issues.
  • Partner with employee relations manager, EMEA ER partners and global ER partners to undertake and support global strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects.
  • Review and develop HR policies and procedures (in conjunction with the policy lead) to meet the needs of the organisation, respond to changing legislation, and facilitate the adoption of best practices.

Skills/Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
  • Demonstrable consulting experience as a specialist ER consultant or in a generalist/hr business partner role
  • A track record of conducting disciplinary and grievances, management of performance and probation and effective handling of flexible work requests
  • Experience of applying ER protocols in Ireland and the UK
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practices
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
