Content Creator (Temporary Position)

Are you looking for an exciting communications job with lots of creativity and autonomy? We are in search of a Content Creator who will help boost engagement with our students.


Job Description

As a Content Creator, you'll create online content like blog posts, social media posts and videos. You will as carry out editorial tasks such as editing the university website and prepring email communication. You will also support our events team with event communication.


In this role, you will work alongside an international, dynamic team of 10 people responsible for marketing, recruitment, communications and external relations at the School of Business and Economics.


As a content creator, your main tasks will include the following:

  • Manage and edit content for the university website and student intranet.
  • Create and manage multichannel content (such as blog posts, newsletters, videos and social media posts) in order to best reach our target audiences.
  • Create and edit visuals used in communication material in accordance with corporate communication branding guidelines.
  • Coordinate and support social media coverage for events, such as Open Days, graduations ceremonies and introduction days.
  • Produce and edit (automated) email campaigns, in consultation with the other communications specialists.
  • Provide editorial support to the team and our internal stakeholders.
  • Support our events team with event communication.

Requirements

  • Work experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with online tools/platforms and with content creation.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with website/platform design. Experience with Drupal 10 is a plus.
  • Experience with using design applications (e.g. Canva, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Excellent team player.
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking) and proficiency in Dutch preferred.
  • Relevant HBO+ level or university degree.

What we offer
As a content creator at the School of Business and Economics, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3218,00 and €4298,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 7 months with a scope of 0.8 FTE.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
