Controller of a Shared Construction Financial Services Company

Reports toOwners of EP Guidi Inc, MidAtlantic Construction Inc, and Residential Company

Salary Competitive based on experience, with performance-based incentives

Start date between April 1, 2026 and May 1, 2026

Will overlap two to three months with retiring Controller

Role Overview

This position will oversee financial management for three operating construction companies (two commercial, one residential) as well as the 1301 Services bookkeeping company. The Controller will have two direct reports.The supported group has an annual volume of $90M–$130M. This role requires the ability to wear many hats, from bank reconciliations to bank relationships, as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA preferred
• 5+ years of construction industry accounting experience
• Staff supervision experience (Controller experience preferred)
• Experience working with owners, lenders, public accountants, sureties, banks, and software providers
• Proficiency in construction accounting software
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and billing processes
• Advanced Excel and document management skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial transactions and relationships across all companies
• Manage weekly payroll and reporting for three companies
• Manage accounts payable/receivable personnel and processes
• Design, review, and administer benefit plans and vendor relationships
• Oversee cash management, financing, investments, and insurance
• Maintain surety relationships and reporting
• Produce quarterly internal financial statements and projections
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports (AR, billing, cash flow, analysis)
• Coordinate tax returns and financial statements with public accountants
• Ensure local and state tax compliance ▪ Manage phone and office equipment support
• Lead special projects (succession planning, entity setup, risk mitigation)
