From artisan sandwiches to brunch favourites and delectable desserts, Baker 51 Café will be a go-to spot for the community. We’re now seeking a talented and passionate Cook to help us bring our cafe to life and continue the success of our much-loved brand.

Job Summary: As a Cook at Baker 51 Café, you’ll play a key role in preparing a variety of fresh, flavorful dishes that celebrate local ingredients. You'll have the chance to collaborate on new menu items and maintain the high standards our customers have come to love. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and present a range of café dishes, including breakfast, brunch, and lunch items, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Contribute creative ideas to the menu and develop new offerings.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation, adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Ensure the freshness and proper storage of all ingredients, monitoring inventory levels and managing food prep.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods, including weekends.
• Control portion sizes, minimize waste, and manage food costs without compromising quality.
• Follow all food safety guidelines, including HACCP procedures.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a café, restaurant, or similar kitchen environment, with experience preparing fresh, high-quality food.
• Creativity: Passion for trying new dishes and contributing to a dynamic, evolving menu.
• Team Player: Ability to work in a close-knit, collaborative kitchen, ensuring smooth service and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Attention to Detail: Focus on food presentation and quality, ensuring every dish meets our standards.
• Time Management: Able to handle multiple orders and thrive in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.

Desirable Skills:

• Strong input on menu development, including creating specials and introducing new dishes.
• Culinary qualifications (preferred but not essential).

Working Hours: This is a full-time position, with flexible shifts required, including weekends.
