About the role:

You will be responsible for using a full range of quantity cooking procedures from common or frequently used to new or difficult recipes. On a day-to-day basis, you will prepare four or more menu items for one meal which involves planning and coordinating steps to ensure that all items are ready for serving at the same time. You will also prepare menu items using special or difficult recipes involving many steps, ingredients using special or difficult recipes involving many steps, ingredients or long preparation time. A pre-employment physical will be required for this position as you may be required to lift or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift overt 50 pounds. Your hours of work will be 15 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.

About you:

You will be required to have skill to plan, coordinate, and tome sequence steps needed to prepare food on time without overcooking or waste. You will have the ability to adjust recipes for servings required. You will also recognize characteristics of foods in deciding that raw materials are fresh and judge prepared food by color, consistency, temperature, odor and taste.

Other significant facts about the role:

You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
