Position Overview

Located at 1599 Hurontario Street at the QEW in Mississauga, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook/Chef to join our team Monday to Friday, working daytime hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00/4:00 PM. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both café-style cooking and the opportunity to expand into catering and event-based food preparation. Join our team!

About Us

The Underground Café is a growing daytime café located at the lower level at 1599 Hurontario Street Mississauga, focused on fresh, high-quality food in a fast-paced but supportive environment. We are connected to The Underground Theatre, an exciting adjacent venue hosting private events, live shows, and catering opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh sandwiches, daily soups, and café specials
• prep for the night shift for various evenets at the Underground.
• Assist in developing and executing daily menu features
• Manage food prep and kitchen organization
• Order supplies and maintain inventory levels
• provide daily instagram and social media posts
• Restock and ensure cleanliness of kitchen and prep areas
• Support catering and food preparation for events at The Underground Theatre

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as a cook or chef in a café, restaurant, or similar setting
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently during busy periods
