We are seeking a cooking instructor with experience preparing Indian cuisine. Familiarity with traditional Indian dishes, spices, and cultural cooking practices. This specific client has autism and visual impairment and is looking for an instructor once a week for one hour a week to become more independent in the kitchen.

Full Job Description

INPERSON COOKING INSTRUCTOR

We are looking for a highly motivated COOKING instructor who is willing to host live, 1:1 cooking classes IN HOME in Marlboro, NJ for special needs adults (working with all different disabilities including; cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, autism, etc.)

• Lead private classes IN HOME. The main duty for cooking instructors is to create a curriculum and teach them how to make recipes of their choice helping plan a menu and let them know what ingredients they need, (whether you're cooking along with them or not) with performing kitchen safety such as sanitation and knife skills.
• Communication skills with the client and families or group homes to help ensure that they make it to class.
• Friendly and motivational personality
• Able to understand and connect on a professional level with the individual
• This job is for one specific client at this time. Once a week. There is room to grow to get more clients.

• Client is visually impaired so instructor will need to verbalize steps and provide hand over hand instructions while working with her.

Job Type: - Contract

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Contract work (varies depending on your schedule) Most clients book once a week, sometimes every other.

Experience:

• Teaching: 2 year (Preferred)
• Working with intellectual and developmental disabilities: 2 year (Required)
• License/Certification: Preferable just a background/experience in cooking.

Work Location: Princeton, NJ

This job is NOT a full time job to make extra money. It is a 1099 position so you will be responsible for your taxes if you make more than $600 for the year.
