We are seeking a Research Coordinator (Postdoc) for the Research Consortium Health in Society, an interdisciplinary initiative at the University of Vienna that promotes excellent and societally relevant research on a wide range of pressing health issues. The position is formally assigned to the research group Health Matters, led by Prof. Dr. Janina Kehr, at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology.

The duration of the contract will end on February 28, 2027.

Your personal sphere of influence:

The Research Coordinator is expected to organize and communicate the activities of the Research Consortium in collaboration with another Research Coordinator, the Co-Directors of the research network (Professors Janina Kehr and Robert Böhm), as well as the Steering Committee of the consortium. This includes, in particular, the organization and execution of a lecture series in the summer semester of 2026, as well as the planning of workshops and public events, and the development of participatory structures for local and regional health research and events. The Research Coordinator will contribute to the establishment and development of one of Austria's largest research and communication networks in health research.

Your future tasks:

You will actively contribute to the development, coordination, and administration of the Research Consortium Health in Society. This includes:

You will play a key role in the establishment, coordination, and organization of the Research Consortium Health in Society

  • You will support and coordinate administrative tasks within the Research Consortium Health in Society
  • .
  • You will (co-)organize a lecture series, workshops, and other activities of the Research Consortium Health in Society
  • .
  • You will support the networking of the Research Consortium Health in Society with relevant institutions in the fields of health and medicine, as well as facilitate the exchange of knowledge with the public sector and broader society
  • .

This is part of your personality:

You have an interest in pursuing a career in research administration and are eager to contribute to the development and organization of an interdisciplinary research initiative
  • .
  • You have experience in planning, organizing, and moderating events (e.g., workshops, panel discussions, conferences) as well as in teaching
  • .
  • You hold a completed doctoral degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology or a related discipline (e.g., Gender Studies, Sociology, Science and Technology Studies, International Development)
  • .
  • Your research interests lie in the areas of health, medicine, and well-being, ideally within one of the core research areas of the group: Gender, Justice, Bodies, Technologies, Intersectionality
  • .
  • You have a strong intrinsic motivation to contribute to addressing current challenges in the fields of health, medicine, and well-being, are familiar with the Austrian healthcare landscape, and possess professional networks in this area
  • .
  • You have very good qualitative research skills and experience in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration
  • .
  • You are cooperative, team-oriented, reliable, and responsible
  • .
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills in both German and English
  • .
