About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fitness and Wellness Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of Curtin University’s fitness programs and facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to manage high-quality wellness programs and create an exceptional member experience for our community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Plan, implement, and coordinate the daily operations of the Fitness and Wellness Centre.
- Oversee and support the delivery of programs and services that promote health, wellness, and engagement across the university.
- Supervise and coordinate a team of fitness staff, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Develop innovative operational enhancements in collaboration with the stadium management team to maximise the use and impact of fitness facilities.
- Foster a positive, team-focused workplace culture and provide guidance and support to staff.
- Maintain a strong network of qualified instructors and manage the group fitness and outdoor exercise timetable.
- Ensure a safe and risk-free environment by working closely with Curtin Health and Safety to identify and address hazards.
- Administer equipment maintenance and servicing schedules to maintain a high standard of facility readiness.
- Implement fitness and wellness initiatives aligned with strategic priorities, with a strong focus on customer experience and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Membership Sales to incorporate member feedback into service improvements.
- Monitor industry trends to keep Curtin Fitness and Wellness Centre at the forefront of innovation.
- Provide advice and guidance on policies and procedures relevant to fitness operations.
- Streamline administrative processes including bookings, attendance tracking, paperwork management, and program sales.
- Ensure financial accountability by tracking expenditure and delivering programs within budget.
- Proven experience in managing operations within a complex fitness or wellness centre.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing a high-performing, customer-focused team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage clients and staff in a positive and culturally sensitive manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to prepare reports and manage operational data.
- Experience in member engagement, retention strategies, and delivering performance results.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Part time hours/roster if applicable
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
- This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check
