Description:
About the role

The Coordinator Trade Waste and Sewage Quality is responsible for delivering best‑practice Trade Waste management in line with regulatory requirements, customer service expectations, compliance obligations and cost‑recovery objectives, while minimising risk to EGW assets. The role also leads investigations and mitigation planning to manage sewer infiltration and inflow (I&I), odour and corrosion risks.

This position serves as a key coordination point between major customers and internal operational and asset planning teams, supporting effective sewage quality risk management and maximising community benefits from sewerage services.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead a risk‑based Trade Waste management program to meet regulatory, service and cost‑recovery requirements.
Manage Trade Waste agreements, including assessment, review and technical advice to customers.
Monitor and report on Trade Waste compliance, environmental performance and financial outcomes.
Engage customers to promote sustainable practices and waste minimisation.
Investigate and respond to non‑compliance and sewage quality risks.
Build strong relationships with major customers and internal stakeholders.
Lead programs addressing sewer infiltration and inflow (I&I), odour and corrosion.
Provide expert technical advice to support operations and asset planning.
Contribute to asset management, capital planning and continuous improvement.
Champion customer service, safety, EGW values and professional standards.

  • This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 4 position, ($94,711.65 - $118,970.84 per annum)
  • Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution. We reserve the right to remunerate successful candidates within the span of this classification dependant on demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications.

Skills and Experiences:
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Degree (Engineering or Science) or equivalent demonstrated technical knowledge relevant to sewage quality risks and mitigation.
High level of communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to represent EGW to major customers, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
Demonstrated practical skills and the ability to work safely alone and with wastewater team.
Appreciation and knowledge of a risk-based approach to trade waste management, water and wastewater treatment and/or land management.
Effective time management skills combined with the ability to prioritise to ensure quality outcomes during times of peak activity.
Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build and manage relationships to achieve beneficial outcomes.
Ability to analyse complex information from multiple data sources and to think strategically and implement solutions with attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
Positive attitude towards personal development including being united, authentic, innovative and accountable to achieve corporate objectives.
