About the Role: We are on the hunt for a skilled and highly motivated Drainage Foreman to join our team in Christchurch. This pivotal role involves leading drainage projects across the Canterbury region, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a foreman, you will be instrumental in mentoring a team of up to five, fostering a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Christchurch City Council certification for drainage foreman (or actively working towards it) is preferred.
- Preferably holds a Water Installer certification, though not essential.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of enhancing team productivity and quality of work.
- Exceptional people management and communication skills.
- Experience in public works drainage or water installation, with at least five years in the field.
- Full licence required, minimum Class 2 with WTR endorsements; Class 4 is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when necessary.
- Experience in other civil construction fields, such as roading, earthworks, or structural work, is beneficial.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage drainage projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Mentor and guide team members, supporting their training and development.
- Engage with stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution from start to finish.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
