About Credit Union Central of Manitoba: Credit Union of Manitoba (CUCM) is the trade association and service provider for the province's 15 autonomous credit unions. CUCM's purpose is to strengthen the conditions that support credit union success.
The Position:
The Corporate Governance and Events Coordinator plays a central role in supporting CUCM's governance operations and delivering high‑quality organizational events. This position provides coordinated administrative, budgetary, and compliance support for the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and peer segment structures, ensuring governance processes are accurate, timely, and aligned with regulatory, legislative, and internal requirements.
The role also leads the planning and execution of CUCM events, including system meetings, board and director events and staff events. It acts as a year round support to a committee of credit union directors to create an annual Directors' Forum conference. The Coordinator manages event logistics end‑to‑end-planning, vendor engagement, registrations, materials, on‑site operations, and post‑event processes-working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
The position maintains corporate records, supports annual filings and certifications, and provides basic administrative support to the VP, Governance & Strategy. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, relationship management abilities, and a proactive, service‑oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance Support
- Compile and track against budget for Governance functions
- Coordinate administrative, scheduling, and logistics support for the Board, its communities and CUCM standing committees
- Maintain governance calendars, contact lists, and documentation.
- Support nominations, elections, and appointments processes.
- Track director training, attestations, and disclosures.
- Assist with backup for processing of board expenses and payroll.
Corporate Secretary and Compliance Support
- Prepare and submit required annual corporate filings.
- Manage annual certification processes for credit unions and annual updates from credit unions about their own directors.
- Maintain CUCM's corporate records site.
- Coordinate Iron Mountain records storage.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Lead planning and execution of CUCM events.
- Manage vendor sourcing, contracts, catering, AV, and logistics.
- Oversee registration, communications, and participant experience.
- Act as Secretariat for Directors' Forum Planning Committee
Corporate Services Support
- Administer memberships, sponsorships, and corporate accounts.
- Provide general corporate services support including mail and reception assistance.
- Provide backup EA support as required.
- Assist VP, Governance and Strategy with calendar, travel, registrations, and expenses.
The Person:
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent in business administration, office administration, communications, or related field. Event management certification is an asset.
- Experience and skills in event management including all aspects of large to small events
- Basic understanding of corporate governance principles, processes and regulatory requirements
- 4–7 years of administrative or coordination experience, preferably in governance or a member‑based environment

Our office is located in downtown Winnipeg. In the current environment, employees have the ability to work in a hybrid format (minimum 3 days in the office (Tues, Thurs, and one day of the employee/managers choosing, and 2 days working remote).

The salary will relate to qualifications and experience. The annual base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $75,000.
