Corporate & Investment Bank – Credit Analyst / Trader - Vice President
JOB DESCRIPTION


This is a multi-faceted role in Global Credit Trading (GCT), including credit analysis for the Financing business, as well as potential trading.

As a Vice President, you will be working collaboratively with the team in Australia, as well as the Global Credit Financing business. You will communicate regularly with our key clients, in partnership with our colleagues from Credit Sales and Structuring. Working with the Risk Management teams and other internal stakeholders will also be key to success in this role. In addition to the credit analyst role, there will be opportunities to help build out JPM’s loan and IG bonds trading capabilities in the Australian market. Experience as a credit research analyst or desk analyst on either the sell-side or buy-side is relevant.

Job responsibilities

  • Analyze credits on a portfolio and single-name basis
  • Build and maintain financial models on Australian corporates
  • Drive P&L opportunities for the Global Credit Trading desk through high conviction trade ideas
  • Work with the APAC Credit Sales team to generate strong connectivity with the local Australian clients as well as broader APAC client base
  • Stay on top of the latest developments in the Leveraged Finance space as well as on news and events affecting individual obligors in the local market
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders with respect to setting up frameworks and processes for the business
  • Risk management
  • Potential for loan and IG bond trading

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years of experience analyzing corporate credits
  • Strong fundamental credit analysis skills and commercial acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics or a related field
  • Strong academic record
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and drive business outcomes

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CFA qualification highly regarded
  • Loan or IG bond trading experience
  • Leveraged Finance experience
