CORPORATE PAYROLL & BENEFITS MANAGER

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Corporate Payroll and Benefits Manager leads and oversees payroll, employee benefits, and retirement plan administration, including RRSP and DPSP programs, across the organization in Canada. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation, and the effective administration of benefits and retirement programs. Responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on payroll, benefits, and retirement policies, streamlining processes, and acting as a key liaison between finance, human resources, and external vendors.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits, and pension administration, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibility, ideally within a corporate setting.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (e.g., PCP/PLP, CEBS) considered an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, CRA requirements, employment standards, pension regulations (RRSP/DPSP), and benefits compliance.
  • Experience managing ADP payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits administration systems.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills with experience preparing statutory filings and year-end reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead audits, implement internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
