Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

Position oversees adult male felons incarcerated in a multi-custody level correctional facility. This involves ensuring safety and security of staff, residents, and the public. Duties are diversified and include working effectively and efficiently to accomplish tasks involving all aspects of residents’ incarceration. Works with coworkers and COI’s to ensure policy and procedures are being followed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensing & Certification:
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Successful completion of the KDOC COTP (Basic Training)
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Must meet all minimum qualifications and necessary special requirements for a COIA
    • At least 19 years of age at time of appointment
    • Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the field of corrections or in the detention of convicted offenders.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Two (2) consecutive years of experience as a KDOC uniformed employee
